We’re Glad God Has Brought You Here!
Bethel was founded in 1820 by a group of German Lutherans who migrated to this area from Pennsylvania. Since then, our community of faith has worshiped in four different locations, including the current location, situated on a beautiful nine-acre site in an area once known as Albin Village.
Our Mission Statement
Our Vision Statement
We embrace the Marks of Discipleship as the pathway to spiritual maturity
- Prayer (I Thessalonians 5: 16-17)
- Worship (Genesis 2:3)
- Read the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16)
- Serve others (John 13: 3-8)
- Relate spiritually in authentic relationships (Matthew 26:17-30)
- Give of ourselves, our time, and our possessions to the building up of God’s Kingdom (Luke 19: 1-10)
Who are Bethel Lutherans?
Bethel Lutherans are “Jesus people” and by this we mean that everything we do comes down to Jesus! The Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God for us because it tells us about Jesus and leads us to Jesus (both the Old Testament AND the New Testament!). We want to worship Jesus, share about Jesus, and grow in our relationship with Jesus. We want to serve our neighbor, especially the poor, the needy, the outcast, and the stranger because Jesus calls us to do so. We are thankful that we can feel forgiven by Jesus when we mess up (which we all do) and we are humbled by Jesus as he forgives those who we have a hard time forgiving. We trust Jesus has redeemed our sin, we dare to try to live like Jesus, and we seek to stay on the lookout for Jesus, who we have come to learn will show up in our lives both when we most need it and when we least expect it!
And we continue to believe, in the midst of our struggles and storms, our uncertainties and our doubts, our frustrations, our anger, and our moments of almost giving up, that no matter what, in our lives, in our world … GOD’S GOT THIS!
