To get started this week, watch this video: A Mighty Fortress is Our God
What are your highs/lows for the day, week, or weekend? What was particularly meaningful and joyful? What might have been particularly difficult, or sad? Each person takes a turn sharing.
Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, ‘If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.’ They answered him, ‘We are descendants of Abraham and have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean by saying, “You will be made free”?’
Jesus answered them, ‘Very truly, I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not have a permanent place in the household; the son has a place there for ever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
What stands out to you about the reading? Where does your life need “reformation” today? What does it mean to you to be a “Lutheran” Christian?
Pray for one another.
Special prayer requests: Pray for all the expressions of Lutheran ministry in our world!
Bless each other by making the sign of the cross on each one’s forehead, sharing the words, “God loves you and so do I!”
